End of the Season Report

Overall it was a down, up, and down year on the Eagle. Water levels certainly played a huge role in giving us a not so typical year! The Year started with low water, cool temps, and fantastic fishing. Our first two weeks of anglers had great success.

Then it poured from the heavens and while no doubt the rainfall was wanted and saved the river for the rest of the year, it made for some difficult fishing during what would normally be our absolute best weeks of the season. The water rose for about 10 days straight and the main runs were sailing right on by. a lot of 'One-rise fish'...see ya later!

Then the temps came up with a week of 30+ degree weather. The fishing was good during the last part of the main grilse run in late July, but the river dropped and warm temps made it difficult for the last few days of our season. By mid August fishing was very tough!

Lets talk numbers--Not as good as the previous season which was absolutely stellar, but a solid year. Our camp averaged 3.9 fish hooked per guest per day over the entire season. A great stat, but for Eagle...not as good as we usually see. We'll chaulk that one up to Mother Nature and ask her for better fishing weather next year!!!

All the team at Pratt Falls Salmon Lodge would like to thank all of our guests for a great year. It was a pleasure to host you all, and for those of you coming back (and that is most of you!) we are looking forward to it. And of course, thank you to the Eagle River. Your bounty is our passion and industry, and we are thankful to be part of such a great river, and such a great sport. See you all next season when we once again, go angling for the 'King of Sportfish'.

We'll leave you with a snap of our very own Dwight and Lindsey. Dwight left camp this year and married the love of his life.
