First Week Of Angling For 2013 Concludes
Posted 05 July 2013, 5:53 pm NDT
This morning we bid farewell to the first of our guests for this season. They all told us that they had a great time and most of the salmon that they landed were large fish in the 8 - 16 lb range.

Much of yesterday evening they spend socializing to keep out of the cold rain that came in.

This afternoon everything changed. The temperature rose and a smokey haze came over the river. We suspect it is smoke from the forest fires burning to the west of us.

It didn't seem to make a difference to the fishing, because our new guests are hooking and landing fish almost as soon as they get on the water.

We did have an unconfirmed report that one of co-owner Mitch's friends landed a salmon that was about 37.5 inches. I can confirm that he had a beautiful grilse and he was so excited about this other fish that he was shaking. I said it was unconfirmed.....his camera's storage was full. Personally; by the excitement in his voice and his actions I believe him.
