Best fishing we have seen since 2015

Good times July 19-24! (larger version)
For a few days this past weekend the fishing was truly stupendous! It is the best we have seen since 2015 and the run does seem to be very healthy. Our guests have been hitting C&R limits, along with a few tagged for home and shore lunches.

Clearly, the abundance of snow on the high ground is having a huge effect on sustaining the river level. It was slowly falling over the weekend and on Monday turned to bump up a few inches over the last couple of days. The fishing also slowed during the same couple of days. The water remains very cool at around 15-16c. Great for the salmon and some very lively, 'splash in your face', kind of releases.

This week, we hosted our first ever anglers from Japan. We were very excited about this and very glad to say that Maco and Suto had a fantastic time, and caught plenty of fish. Maco is pictured here with a nice salmon! Also glad to report that the group of repeat guests that we hosted this week have had the best fishing they have had in years!

So, overall a great week and some happy fishermen left here today! We welcome a new group and hopefully the river turns to fall again and with it brings bent rods!
