Salmon On The BBQ Cooked To Perfection
Posted 03 July 2012, 9:15 am NDT
We awoke this morning very pleased to see that the river has risen ever so slightly over night. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Guests and Staff were treated to a beautiful Dinner of Barbequed Salmon yesterday evening. Several of the guests provided Grilse for the meal.

To say that it was delicious would be an understatement. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. Now wipe the drools off your chin while I give you an update.

The fishing is improving quite a bit, even thought the guides tell me that the fish are not taking well, the catch rate is rising. They are telling me that they can see the salmon all over the river.

This is not surprising to anglers who have fished the Eagle River before. The shear number of fish that migrate up river insure that anglers will have success.

One of our guests was telling me last night that he has fished for Salmon for many years and in many locations. In fact he has also fished in many locations in Labrador.

He is totally amazed with the fish in this river. "They just hit so hard...". Needless to say he is having a great trip.
