More personal best trips, River in great shape
Posted 07 August 2015, 8:45 am NDT
So ends another week, and another group of happy guests depart camp. I had the opportunity to drive a couple of guests out by jet boat yesterday, and, they were happy campers. They had the pleasure of being guided by Ron, and the praise for this experienced guide was high. Not to mention they both had personal best catch stats. Bob remarked, "I only ever caught one in a day, it's not like that here!", admitting he had limited experience. Adam on the other hand, with much more experience salmon fishing, was also stoked by his results and by releasing his first large salmon.

Our average hook rate for this last week was 7-8 a day per rod, very good considering the rising water.

Which is the next part of our report, the river...I cannot recall the river ever having a better year for conditions. The rainfall has been perfectly timed. The river is rising sharply now after hard rain, it is a cool low 60s temp, and still fresh fish coming in. I expect we are going to see some great fishing this week as we welcome our next group of guests today.
