Up She Rises Again!
Posted 02 August 2017, 8:30 pm NDT
Our guests that departed on Monday had a successful trip with everybody getting into some nice grilse and still a few large in the mix. The river was getting in prime shape, but a downpour of rain inland brought it up about a foot over 24 hrs on Monday and Tuesday. The rise in water combined with slack tides led to a slow couple of days, but, when the river stopped rising and turned to fall we started seeing fish and hooking up again. The tides started building again yesterday, so we hope they bring more fish and the river keeps dropping!

We continue to hear that there are still plenty of salmon out on the headlands of the coast. Last year we had some nice late runs of maxi-grilse, and we are starting to think it is going to be that way again this year.
